    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    DEENSCORP is seeking a Permits and Right-of-Way Specialist with five (5) years of experience in transportation engineering projects. Under direct supervision, the Permits and Right-of-Way Engineer will perform a variety of right-of-way mapping, surveying tasks and permits applications in support of project engineers and managers for transportation projects.

    The ideal candidate should have 5 years of experience reviewing and/or developing right-of-way documents for projects and be familiar with field and office surveying methods and practices. Also must be familiar with permits application process for projects. The position is full-time, located in San Jose, and will be stationed at client's office for duration of employment. Position includes benefit package (health, vacation, sick and holidays).

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education and Experience

    • Minimum 5 years of in right-of-way mapping and surveying a plus.

    • Experience using Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and engineering software applications.

    Other Requirements

    • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job assignment.

    • Stationed at client office for project duration.

    Desirable Qualifications

    • Experience in permits and right-of-way engineering for transportation projects.

    • Practical understanding of engineering plans and able to interpret contract documents

    • Experience in interpreting right-of-way documents, legal descriptions, and survey maps.

    • Experience in permits application process with local municipalities, regional and regulatory agencies and private parties.

    • Experience in plan checks and review.

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Surveying and/or possession of PE or Survey license a plus.

    License

    • Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license is required at time of appointment and for duration of employment.

    TYPICAL DUTIES:

    The Permits and Right-of-Way Specialist shall perform the following duties (included, but not limited, to):

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist with the preparation of right-of-way mapping, topographic and boundary survey drawings, utility drawings, easements, Record or Survey Maps, ALTA Surveys, Parcel and Subdivision Maps, and exhibits to accompany legal descriptions.

    • Assist in researching, compiling, and analyzing: Records of Survey, Plats, Legal Documents, Right-of-Way Maps, Government Land Office Data, and Utility Drawings and Sketches.

    • Coordinate work with Design Engineers, Utility Companies, and Real Estate Division.

    • Support the preparation of plans, specifications, schedules, calculations and cost estimates for roadways and transportation systems projects.

    • Respond to questions, write replies, review comment on engineering plans, maps, and other documents as generated by engineers, contractors and public agencies.

    • Initiate and prepare permits applications with local municipalities, regional and regulatory agencies and private parties.

    • Review permits applications prepared by others for transportation projects.

    • Computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, scheduling tools, computer-aided drafting, and design (CADD) with civil engineering modules

    • Maintain records, logs, and databases

    • Effectively communicate both orally and in writing

    • Interact, establish, and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work including the public, clients, and coworkers

  • Utility Coordinator

    DEENSCORP is seeking a Utility Coordinator with experience coordinating utility-related activities for civil and/or transportation engineering projects. Under direct supervision, Utility Coordinator will perform a variety of utility coordination related work, including ensuring minimal disruption to services and adherence to regulations. This position would require coordinating and working with various stakeholders, public agencies, private utility companies and designers’ teams to identify/mitigate potential conflicts, permitting, negotiate relocation plans, and manage the process of utility relocation. The ideal candidate should have 4 or more years of experience.

    Civil Engineer II (Right-of-Way Engineer)

Under direct supervision, the Civil Engineer II will perform a variety of civil engineering and surveying tasks in support of project engineers and managers for transportation projects. The ideal candidate should have 3 years of experience reviewing and/or developing right-of-way documents for projects and be familiar with field and office surveying methods and practices.
